The one thing that's sort of holding me back on the Fluance sub is the Peak/RMS wattage, which is partially why I'm asking here whether that's even really a concern I should be having. I would even entertain a Jamo S810, but I have read that there is an all-too-common defect with the amp, and I'm not sure whether I am willing to take that chance (though I really love the aesthetics, and smaller footprint of that sub) - unless someone can confirm that the "heart beat" issue has been resolved. My preference would also be to buy Canadian if possible, but if there's a deal I just can't pass up on something better than what the Fluance sub offers (which is kind of why the HTS 10" is looking attractive right now since it's on sale at a $200 discount off of the CDN retail through crutchfield/bestbuy), I won't turn that down as I am always looking for the biggest bang for the least amount of money. It isn't exactly terrible because the room isn't very large at all, but I just upgraded my whole front end from Pioneer BS22/C22 to Polk RTi A1/CSi A4 (for less than $500 CDN), and it's giving me the itch to up the Sub. I'm not looking for something to shake all of the popcorn off the ceiling, either, just something that's an improvement on the PSW10 I currently have. Yeah, those certainly are all nice, but they're all in US prices, which adds at least another 30% to the cost with the exchange and really, I'm looking to really only spend around $300 CDN. Of course, if anyone has any other recommendations on a budget sub (under $300), I'm all ears (keep in mind, I live in Canada). The obvious difference is the peak/rms wattage, but how important is that number, especially in a smallish room (8' x ~16')? Would the Fluance DB10 be just fine or would the HTS 10" be the better buy (at $30 more while it is currently on sale on crutchfield.ca)? I'm not so smart when it comes to specs for these things, so I was hoping someone could shed a bit of light between these two models.Īmplifier Output (watts)đ00-watt RMS (200-watt peak)įREQUENCY RESPONSEē8Hz – 180Hz (☓dB) Full Range Anechoic Measurementģ5Hz – 180Hz (☖dB) Full Range Anechoic Measurement I'm looking to replace my sub, which is a Polk PSW10 - I am half-interested in the Polk HTS 10", but also came across a 10" from Fluance that has sort of peaked my interest.
